SERVICE + LEARNING = SERVICE LEARNING

St. John Vianney Catholic School bases its service learning on themes from the Corporal Works of Mercy. This year’s themes focused on Elders, Environment, Hunger, Homeless, Poverty, and Immigrants.

Students work through fives stages of service learning for each themed project: investigation, preparation and planning, action, reflection and demonstration. By exploring each of these stages, students experience a deeper understanding of their service, why it is needed, how it impacts others and what they learned from their work.
