New campus minister provides daily support on campus
As the new campus minister, Brother Patrick provides a daily dose of Franciscan spirituality to our students.
“We are so blessed to have him here,” says Vice Principal Beth Labreche. “He is a true representation of what it means to follow in the footsteps of St. Francis and to live a life of service.”
Brother Patrick can be seen on campus every day, involved in many aspects of the school community such as co-teaching 6th grade religion, partnering with guidance in group settings, and mentoring students during after school care.
“It is an honor to provide spiritual and emotional support to our students, families and our staff,” says Brother Patrick. My goal is to make my way into each classroom at least once a week so students will begin to look for me and know that I am here to guide them in their spiritual journey.”
In true Franciscan spirit, Brother Patrick launched a mutual hospitality program encouraging students to take time to recognize others. “Nice to see you” posters line the hallways reminding everyone to take time to look up and greet one another. Currently, students are being challenged to Stop, Think & Talk in an effort to improve their problem-solving skills.
If you haven’t had a chance to meet Brother Patrick, please take time to introduce yourself. You’ll be delighted by his Irish accent and will feel the warmth he has already brought to SJVS.
