Annual Fund

The Annual Fund provides the school with the ability to immediately invest in things that affect every child. The Annual Fund provides the funds necessary to:

  • Keep tuition affordable for all parents
  • Invest in technology including hardware and software                        Online-Giving_banner_v2
  • Improve the school’s facilities
  • Provide Tuition Assistance to those with a proven need

What did the Annul Fund support?
SJVS is extremely cognizant of the need to keep tuition affordable, and in select cases, to provide tuition assistance to our families with a proven need. Because every child learns differently, our Resource Department needs the tools to respond to different learning styles, ensuring that our school remains capable of meeting these diverse needs. We are constantly identifying areas of improvement and need Annual Fund resources to make these investments so our children are prepared for their future. Without the incredibly generous contributions to the Annual Fund, these investments would not be possible.

This past year, the Annual Fund increased its reach by receiving matching gifts and volunteer grants from numerous foundations. We are a 501(C)(3) educational institution and qualify for most matching programs. We are so grateful to these partner companies who invest in our children’s education. Please ask your Human Resource Officer if your company does gift matching or volunteer grants. Donations are accepted all year and can be sent to the school office marked Annual Fund or made online with the PledgeConnect link on

Frequently Asked Questions

Like many other academic and religious organizations, St. John Vianney Catholic School’s Annual Fund finances strategic projects and ensures a positive financial future for the school.

What is the goal?
The Annual Fund goal is to raise $100,000 by June 30th.

Where is the money going?
Proceeds from the Annual Fund will help finance strategic projects that have been identified in the school’s strategic plan including the school’s tuition assistance programs. The proceeds from the Annual Fund also help to keep tuition affordable for all families. Investing in technology and supporting the Resource Department are critical functions of the Annual Fund.

Who is being asked for money?
We are asking school parents, faculty, staff, grandparents, alumni, friends and corporate partners to consider supporting the school through a financial donation.

6200 S. Orange Blossom Trail
Orlando, FL 32809

Can someone who is not a school family, grandparent or alum donate to the fund?
Yes, by all means, if someone wishes to support the campaign they can do so.

Does this replace other fundraisers?
St. John Vianney Catholic School’s fundraisers have always been very successful. Our fundraisers are also social events in that they provide a sense of community for the school. Fundraisers are an integral part of our school and we will continue to count on them to raise funds to be used for annual operating expenses. The Annual Fund is designed to raise funds above and beyond school fundraisers.
Why don’t we just raise tuition to cover costs?
St. John Vianney Catholic School has always provided high-quality, affordable, Catholic education for over 50 years in Orlando. Our diverse culture represents people from all backgrounds and locations. It is our goal to keep the tuition affordable and comparable in cost to other Catholic schools in the Orlando metropolitan area.

Does this replace my donation to the church?
No. Our school population is comprised of active, supportive members of the Catholic Church. Our school is a ministry of the parish. In early 2005, St. John Vianney Catholic Church introduced tithing to the parish with great success. A standard amount for charitable donations is 10% of annual income. We realize that many families tithe (typically 5%) and then make decisions as to where they will make additional charitable donations (perhaps a university, local charity, health research, etc.). We would hope that donors would consider St. John Vianney Catholic School when considering where to make a donation after they have tithed to the church.

Is my contribution to the Annual Fund tax-deductible?
Yes. St. John Vianney Catholic School is a 501c(3) charitable organization.
Can I make my gift in honor of someone?
Yes. Donations can be made in honor of any person. Please note that on the form or envelope when making your donation.

Can I earmark my donation for a certain cause?
We would prefer that funds be donated to the general fund so that prioritized, strategic projects can be funded. However, we will honor requests for specific, earmarked items.

Can my donation be anonymous?
Yes, donors wishing to remain anonymous can request that on the donation envelope.
Are we the only Catholic school in Orlando with an annual fund campaign?
Other schools in the Diocese have Annual Fund campaigns as well as endowments.

How much am I expected to give?
Every gift, no matter the amount, is appreciated. Appropriate gift amounts can only be determined by the individual family. The goal is that every family will participate at a level that is comfortable for them as they prayerfully consider the value that they place on their child’s education and confident in the knowledge that every dollar enhances the excellent educational experience for all students at St. John Vianney Catholic School.

Planned Giving: Our Legacy Initiative

Our Advancement program at SJV Church and School has been working on a Planned Giving program in order to secure the future of our Church and School. Recognizing the call to be good stewards with the many gifts God has bestowed upon us and to entrust those gifts for the future, we launched a Planned Giving Initiative for St. John Vianney Parish and School on the Fall of 2013.

Planned gifts allow individuals to make a gift in the present which will be received by the St. John Vianney Parish or School at a later date. These gifts ensure that the missions of St. John Vianney Parish and School will continue into the future. Those individuals who take the significant step of leaving a planned gift through their Will or estate plan will become part of our St. John Vianney Vivos Christi Society, which recognizes those who have answered the call to secure the future missions of our Parish and School. The purpose of these planning seminars is to provide the crucial information that you will need to make informed decisions regarding your financial future, your family’s future and the role that your legacy will play in securing the future of our Parish and School. These seminars include Wills & Estate Planning, Financial & Insurance Planning, and Funerals & Catholic End of Life Care.  We invite you to attend these informative sessions.

We are constantly humbled by your generosity and by your continued commitment to excellent Catholic education at St. John Vianney Catholic School. All questions regarding the Annual Fund and Planned Giving may be directed to our Principal, Ms. Marshall,  at 407-855-466 or
